(All brackets are competitive)
Pre-registration Only (No Walk-ins)
Date: Friday, January 12, 2018
Place: Melrose-Mindoro High School [Enter at the field house entrance.]
Pre-registration Only: You must pre-register (including your weight), using Trackwrestling before the deadline Thursday, January 11 at 6:00 p.m., and weights can be updated anytime up to the 6:00 p.m. deadline. Tournament managers around the state have recommended registering early and updating your wrestler?s weight as the deadline approaches. This will secure your spot and list an accurate weight. Because discrepancies can occur a scale is available in case a wrestler?s weight is brought into questions. If this happens he or she will be allowed a 2 lb weight allowance. Wrestlers who are over by more than 2 pounds will forfeit their matches without refund. Please be accurate.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
COACHING AT MATSIDE: Parents and coaches are asked to please help organize our young wrestlers who will sit on the bottom bleacher as they await to be called to the mat.
In consideration of club coaches, chairs will be set up in the corners so that two coaches per wrestler can be designated.
Brackets
1) Wrestlers will be bracketed in a 4-man round robin format.
2) Each match will consist of three one-minute periods.
3) Each period will begin with the wrestlers on their feet.
4) Trophies will be awarded for first place and medals will be awarded for second through fourth place.
Tie Breaker Procedure
Ties will proceed directly to a single 30 second sudden-victory period from the mat. The choice will be given to the wrestler who wins the flip.
No Headlock Rule: Headlocks used as a takedown or as a pinning combination will be treated as a potentially dangerous hold. If a wrestler uses the position on his feet, the match will be stopped then restarted. If a wrestler is in a pinning combination and the maneuver ends up in a headlock position, pin points will be awarded (so long as pinning criteria has been met) and the wrestlers will be restarted from the down position. NOTE: A front headlock is a legal technique.
If you have further questions, please contact Ernie Brodsky at (608) 488-2201 or (608) 857-3417
At the Door:
1) Make sure your wrestler is registered and the weight has been recorded correctly.
2) Pay the spectator fee. Note: All wrestler entry fees are paid for online.
3) Check your wrestlers name on the bracket. (Brackets will already have been posted.) A scale will be present if there is a question of weight. If such an issue arises, wrestlers will be removed from the tournament if actual weight is more than two pounds above the printed weight.
