WELCOME TO THE 2019 OMRO WRESTLING TOURNAMENT January 5th Omro High School would like to welcome you to the Omro Wrestling Tournament. We ask for your assistance in helping us make this an enjoyable day for all involved. We ask all spectators to remain in the stands; please do not block walkways surrounding the mats. All videotaping must be completed in the stands, no one except wrestlers called on deck are allowed to be at mat side. We ask that all wrestlers and spectators do not bring glass containers into the gym. A concession stand is located in the commons to the west of the gym. Please dispose of beverage containers and food wrappers in garbage cans. Your help in these matters is greatly appreciated. The following schedule of events is planned for the 2019 Omro Tournament. We will attempt to follow the plan as close as possible, but please realize that these times are approximate and may vary throughout the day. Schools Attending: Omro, Berlin, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Chilton/Hilbert, Freedom, Hustisford, Kewaunee, Kiel, Necedah, Oakfield, and Wautoma. (11 Schools) Time Line: 7:00 School Opens ? A list of your wrestlers will be available. 8:00-8:45 Weigh-ins ? Omro Team Wrestling Room 9:00-9:30 Coaches Meeting ? Remember that this is a pre-seeded invitational. This means that you cannot ask for a higher seed. 9:45 - 10:00 We will attempt to start wrestling as soon as we can. Format: This tournament is pre-seeded. Depending on how many wrestlers are in the bracket will determine the bracket type. 8 Man Scramble Format 2 10 Man Scramble Format 2 Place 8 6 Man Round Robin Coaches, We do not let schools bring extra wrestlers. What we chose to do several years ago was increase the amount of schools to our tourney. This is our 3 goals in order: 1. Get 8 wrestlers per weight class (The 8 man scramble is our default bracket - we like this one) 2. Get each wrestler 4 - 5 matches (If there is less than 7 wrestlers - we go to a 6 man round robin) 3. Finish the Invite at a reasonable time. Entry Fee: $175.00 There will be 3 full mats ? all rounds. Each Wrestler will have a potential of 5 matches, depending on how many wrestlers are in their weight class. Awards presentations will take place in the wrestling practice room at the south/east end of the gym. Anyone is welcomed in the wrestling room for the opportunity to take pictures. Top Team will receive a plaque and the top 3 wrestlers will receive a medal. Bracket sheets will be located in the commons on the Trophy Cases.
