2019 Forest City Invitational Wrestling Tournament

****This will be a &80;VARSITY competition ONLY&80;! We have decided to change our JV Tournament to the following Monday (January 7).
Participating Teams:&80; Algona, Clear Lake, Charles City, Creston, Emmetsburg, Forest City, Fort Dodge, North Butler/Clarksville, St. Ansgar, West Fork
Date:&80; January 5, 2019
Time:&80; Varsity &80;Wrestling starts at&80; &80;10:00 a.m.
Pairings:&80; &80;Seeding will take place at 8:30 a.m. (IMC).&80; Criteria will be as follows: head-to-head competition, common opponent, State place winner, State qualifier. Consideration may be given to &80;top three places at last year?s Clear Lake tournament. &80;We will not seed losing records.
Weigh-ins: Weigh-ins will be at 8:00 a.m.&80; Scales will be located in the high school wrestling room.
Time Schedule:&80; The schedule below is an approximate time schedule. The tournament will run straight through with only minor breaks between sessions. If we get ahead of schedule we will stay ahead of schedule

-12:30 p.m.&80; Championship semifinals & Consolation quarters

-&80;3:30 p.m. &80; Finals and Consolation Finals
Team Areas&80;: Due to the amount of teams at the tournament and gym space available we will request that wrestlers and cheerleaders camp in their designated areas. We &80;DO NOT&80; want them or their gear in the stands! Communication of these expectations will be shared during the pre-meet conferences. We will try and reserve the space available in our bleachers for the spectators. Thank you for communicating this ahead of time to your kids.
Team Scoring: &80;Per NHFS Scoring. No advancement points will be scored for preliminary pigtail matches. Bonus points will be scored in these matches. Consolation pigtail match winners will score 1 advancement point plus any bonus points.
Awards:&80; First, second, and third place medals for winners in each weight class, Awards will be given out at the conclusion of wrestling.
Mats:&80;Three wrestling mats will be utilized throughout the day in the High School Gym for the varsity tournament. We will call matches to the first available mat to keep the tournament moving.
Concessions:&80; A concession stand will be available throughout the day in the High School area.
Coolers:&80; Coolers will not be allowed in the gym. Athletes may keep a cooler in the wrestling room (behind the HS Gym) or in their designated team area. Please police your athletes. Outlets will not be provided to cook from.
Admission:&80; $5.00 per person. No passes accepted other than Administrative passes
