2017 Forest City Wrestling Invitational December 21, 2017 Re: Forest City Invitational Wrestling Sheet Participating Teams: Algona, Clear Lake, Charles City, Emmetsburg, Forest City, North Butler, St. Ansgar, West Fork Date: January 7, 2017 Time: 9:00 a.m. First Rd. JV or as soon as we get pairings completed/ Varsity at 10:00 a.m. Pairings: Seeding will take place at 8:30 a.m. (Room 302) Criteria will be as follows: head-to-head competition, record, and place last year within one weight (at the Clear Lake tournament). We will not seed losing records. JV wrestlers will be placed into 4 man brackets according to skill level. Please e-mail or fax this information to Steve Staudt sstaudt@forestcity.k12.ia.us JV brackets will be set up on Friday night. Please fax or email prior to 12 noon on Friday January 6, 2017. JV will wrestle periods of: 2-1-1. Weigh-Ins: We will begin weighing-in at 8:00 a.m. JV Wrestlers may weigh-In at home on Friday. Time Schedule: Approximate time schedule-The tournament will run straight through with only minor breaks between sessions. As soon as pairings are made-JV Tournament 1st round in the middle school gym. (JV tournament will run continuously) -10:00 Varsity Matches -Varsity Quarterfinals -Varsity Semifinals and Consolation Quarterfinals -Varsity Consolation Semifinals -Finals and Consolation Finals Team Scoring: As per National Federation Awards: First, second, and third place medals for winners in each weight class (varsity). Awards will be given out at the conclusion of the last match. The JV round robin champion will be awarded a gold medal. Entry Fee: $85 per Varsity team and $75 per JV team or $6 per individual. Officials: Jon Vrieze, Travis Pike, Alex Pearson, Paul Kumsher, Marcus Spotts, Ethan Lambert Mats: Three wrestling mats will be utilized throughout the day in the High School Gym for the varsity tournament. Two wrestling mats will be used in the Middle School Gym for the JV Tournament. Dressing Rooms: Will be assigned (The host school is not responsible for lost or stolen items). Towels: Each school should provide their own. Concessions: A concession stand will be available throughout the day in the High School area. Coolers: Coolers will not be allowed in the gym. Athletes may keep a cooler in the wrestling room (behind the HS Gym). Please police your athletes. Outlets will not be provided to cook from.
