34th ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE K-5 WRESTLING TOURNAMENT Independence High School Friday, February 7, 2020 TrackWrestling Model Format will be used. In and Out in 3½ hours including weigh-in. BENEFITS OF THIS FORMAT ? Tournament gets wrestlers 3 matches targeting 1 every 45 minutes so parents and wrestlers get in and out. ? Wrestlers essentially weigh-in ahead of time by giving their estimated weight during the preregistration for bracketing purposes. ? Bracketing is done the night before and will be available on-line so people know their mat number and match numbers ahead of time. DIVISIONS: K-2 Non-competitive (Lapel pins for awards) K-1 Competitive (Birthdates 9/1/12 to present) 2nd ? 3rd Grade (Birthdates 9/1/10 to 8/31/12) 4th ? 5th Grade (Birthdates 9/1/08 to 8/31/10) (Age overrides grade) Female Brackets will be created if numbers permit and weights align. WEIGH-INS : 4:00 - 4:45 pm (Only competitive wrestlers need to weigh in ) Any wrestler that weighs in who is over the weight limit of the weight class, will be ineligible for awards and will only wrestle exhibition matches. Wrestling begins at 5:00 pm. Wrestling completes around 7:30 pm. FORMAT: 4 Person Round-Robins targeting 3 matches with 1 every 45 minutes. (3, 4, or 5 Man Round-Robins may be used if necessary) AWARDS: Champions ? 2.5? Custom Medals Runnerup & Third ? 2? Silver/Bronze Medal 4th Place ? 1.5? Medal 5th Place ? Lapel Pin ENTRY FEE: $15.00. If in doubt, call to confirm you are registered. ADMISSION: Non-participants - $1.00. Children not in school free. MATCHES: Three one minute periods. Two point near falls only. If a match ends in a tie, a thirty-second sudden death overtime, followed by two 15 second periods and a 15 second ultimate tie-breaker if needed.. Concessions will be sold at the school.
