***ADDITIONAL INFORMATION***
A reminder that you must form an official NCAA Weigh-in Sheet on TrackWrestling and bring a paper copy of it to us at check-in Saturday morning. This weigh-in sheet must include all attached AND unattached wrestlers on your team.
Check-in on Saturday will begin at 5:45 am and close at 6:30 am. Please have one of your coaches come to the check-in area with your team`s weigh-in sheet and payment for your entries. Entry Fee is $25 per wrestler. Please have them allow enough time to be completed with the process by 6:30 am. Please inform your unattached wrestlers they must be paid and checked-in by 6:30 am or they will be scratched from the tournament at that time. We will have a separate line for the unattached wrestlers and the biggest issue we have is getting those guys checked in and paid by 6:30. Thank you for making sure the unattached guys from your school are there early to give them enough time to pay and check in before 6:30 am.
A reminder you should notify Jeff Freidhof at jeff.freidhof@decorah.k12.ia.us of any scratches or weightclass changes for your wrestlers once they are registered in Track. You have until 9 pm Friday to notify him of a weightclass change with no charge. After 9 pm Friday, there will be a $50 fee for a wrestler to change weightclasses. Please supply scratch information to Jeff Freidhof as soon as you know a wrestler will be withdrawing. There will not be a penalty to scratch a wrestler. We are forming the brackets Friday and it adds a great deal of trouble Saturday morning if weightclasses are changed. That added time can prevent us from starting on-time at 9:00 am, and so that is the reason for the financial penalty for weightclass changes. Thanks for your cooperation!
Per NCAA Rules, Skin Checks will begin at 6:45 am, at which time all weight loss measures must cease. Weigh-ins will begin at 7 am. We will weigh-in BY TEAM this year and so all of your wrestlers must weigh-in initially with your team on a designated scale. Per NCAA rules, if a wrestler does not make weight on that scale, they will be held until weigh-ins are complete and then will get one attempt on every scale to make their designated weight. One of your coaches must accompany them with a tournament official. No weight loss measures may take place during this holding period. If they do not make weight on any of the 10 scales after the holding period, they may choose to move up a weightclass for a $50 fee. That decision must be made immediately following weigh-ins so a new bracket can be drawn quickly. Either way, per new NCAA Rules, their weight MUST be recorded if they enter the weigh-in area, regardless if they choose to move up or withdraw from the tournament.
Lastly, we expect a large turnout of wrestlers and fans for the event Saturday. Bus parking will be on our upper campus by the outdoor swimming pool. You can drop off at the South entrance Circle Drive by the Football field but then will need to move buses to upper campus. You are welcome to plug in warmers and slow cookers for food before the event starts at 9 am, but you may be asked to unplug them after that if our electrical circuits cannot handle it. All matches will be live scored on Track and so it is crucial for the operation of a great tournament for us to have electricity for the tables secured.
