Civic Center Slam III (Session II)

Civic Center Slam III (Session II)

Info
Coaches/Club Contacts, Everything you need to know (to relay to your parents) should be in these flyers. I`ve also included some photo`s of the venue we`ll be competing at (Civic Center). We have hosted two events so far in 2021 and it`s gone EXTREMELY well. Feel free to share with parents that are curious. ESTIMATED NUMBERS I`d appreciate it if you could get me an `estimate` ASAP (breakdown based on age group or session is fine). I have a good `idea` on how many kids we can support during this event and if we are running low, I`d like to invite some smaller teams to fill the gaps. Thank you! TRACKWRESTLING I created 2 different tournaments for each session, as I`m Madison bracketing Session I and Scramble bracketing Session II. The `scramble` bracketing will allow me to pair wrestlers of comparable ability/weight; while at the same time keeping teammates separate, which in my opinion, in a small event is important. I will shoot for a minimum of 3, with a possibility of 4 matches in Session II. Wrestlers with an undefeated record will receive a gold medal. 1 loss=silver. etc. I will be sending out STATISTICAN links ASAP for each clubs registration chairs. Please forward on those emails to relevant people if you are not the intended recipient. Please have rosters/weights entered as soon as convenient. I will lock out Statisticians on Friday evening, although I`m requesting you have all imputed by Thursday if possible. COVID As far as COVID protocols go, I`m going to be as least restrictive as possible. We will enter through 1 door. Exit through 1 door. etc. We will encourage `social distancing` as best as possible, however, we aren`t going to be enforcing anything crazy. We`re splitting shifts, in hopes to shuffle out a large portion of the younger crowd, before the older kids start. So I guess what I`m saying is, if you have anyone that is concerned about contracting COVID (vulnerable) or is really into following protocols (or making other follow), they should probably stay away. Mask signs will be posted, as the health dept. requested masking for everyone while 1.) not warming up 2.) not wrestling. This is the plan I had to get approved through the health department. Keep in mind, we are NOT going to be enforcing these hard line. We aren`t going to badger people. We will have designated seating areas for each team. COACHES We will be passing out arm bands for AAU CARDED coaches. Please help us to restrict mat side presence to 2 coaches MAX. Keep all wrestlers that aren`t on-deck and parents in the stands to help with less congestion. TABLE WORKERS Each town will be expected to run a table during event. REFEREES Please provide 1 adult/older aged kid referee for this event. I`d like at least 6-8 officials for both sessions and that can be tough in the second session without adult referees; as the older kids will be competing. MATS We will run 4 mats throughout the event (2 full-size, split in half). If you have any questions, please don`t hesitate to reach out.
