This is why we wrestle
All the hard work, all the sweat, all the aches and pains, the months of pushing your body past limits you didn`t know were possible all preparing for this one moment in time. Just showing up indicates that you are a gladiator willing to take on all challengers. However, this one moment could be your greatest achievement in your young life. After Saturday they will be calling you by your new name, Champion!
And to the victor goes the spoils. So many awards, it`s mind boggling.
First you`ll battle through the qualifying rounds taking down each challenger that stands in your way. Which medal will be yours Gold, Silver, or Bronze? Well, that depends on how badly you want it.
You made it to the finals! You have just earned the coveted AWO State Finalist Singlet.
While the girls are competing in the Alabama Wrestling Chicks Girls Championship, you`ll have time to go put it on and get ready for the finals. Your parents are so proud. Let`s get a picture in that awesome singlet.
Finally it`s time. One age group on each mat. Finalists are lined up across from each other on each side of the mat wearing their finalist singlets. All the finalists are introduced to the crowd. Then it begins. Each weight class wrestling one at a time until it`s finally your turn. Go out, shake hands, and do what you have trained all season to do. Go win that match!
It was an epic battle against your toughest rival, but you prevailed and took GOLD! Step on the podium to receive your medal and your bracket. Give me your best scowl or smile because we are going to honor your achievement on our website for all eternity by posting your photo onto the Wall Of Champions.
But wait! We`re not done handing out awards. In every age group we will present Outstanding Wrestler awards and Best Match trophies in every age group. Could it be you? How are you going to fit all this in your car?
Ok, now you`ve visualized yourself winning it all. Go make it happen. Register today!

WEIGH-IN INFORMATION
Onsite weigh-ins only, NO satellite Weigh ins.
**Weigh-ins will be done in competition singlet with a one-pound allowance**
AWO`s goal is to promote a safe environment for all wrestlers. For this reason, AWO - AAU will not permit any form of weight cutting. The following rules will be strictly enforced at weigh-ins. There will be no check scales at AWO-AAU weigh-in location. No weight cutting activities such as running, spitting, wearing sauna suites, etc... will be permitted. Any wrestler found doing so will be immediately disqualified from the tournament. Once a wrestler steps on the scale their weigh-in is complete. If the wrestler is over weight, they can challenge by immediately moving to a second `challenge` scale at the weigh-in site. The lesser of the two weights will be entered as the official weight; no further weigh-ins will be permitted. If the wrestler is over weight for their registered weight class, they will be bumped to the next appropriate weight class based on their actual weight.
