2016 VISAA State Wrestling Tournament (46th annual) DATES: Fri & Sat, February 19 & 20 SITE: Deep Run High School, Deep Run HS, 4801 Twin Hickory Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059 Schedule of Events Friday, February 19 (Session I) 4:00 pm - Weigh-ins (by team) & Skin Checks & Doors Open to public for tickets sales. Two (2) pounds over scratch weight if wrestler has met NWCA guidelines. Each team must produce an NWCA-generated weigh-in sheet that reflects most recent weigh-in. Please have your wrestlers clean shaven, nails cut and in possession of any necessary VHSL skin clearance forms (a doctor`s note alone is not sufficient). 5:30 pm - Wrestling begins in this order & last match called at 10:30 pm. -Preliminary Championship Round 1 on 5 mats (41 matches last year) -Consolation Round 1 ? most likely all byes (1 match last year) -Championship Round 2 on 5 mats (108 matches last year) -Consolation Round 2 on 5 mats (39 matches last year) -Consolation Round 3 on 5 mats (39 matches last year) -Championship Quarterfinals IF TIME ALLOWS on 5 mats. Saturday, Feb 20th (Session II) 8:00 am Weigh-ins (1 additional pound). 9:30 am Wrestling continues in this order -Championship Quarter finals (5 mats) if this round was not completed Fri night. -4th round Consolations (5 mats) -Championships Semi-Finals (4 main gym mats) with 5th round consolations running concurrently on the extra mat in the auxiliary gym; when Championship semi?s finish, we?ll use all 5 mats to complete the 5th round consolations. -6th Round Consolations (Consolation Semi-Finals) 5 mats 3:00 pm: Set up for finals. This is approximate, we may start earlier! 4:00 pm Final Place Matches (places 1-7): This start time is approximate, we may begin earlier! On four mats main gym, one weight class at a time. Awards & podium pictures will be done at the conclusion of ALL wrestling. Wrestlers placing 1-8 are to remain in warm ups for pictures. A picture of all champions will be taken at the conclusion of the finals.
