TOURNAMENT / SEEDING NOTES: The tournament is using the trackwrestling.com program so each coach will enter their rosters, as well as, the head to head wins/loses over the other participants in the tournament on the program.
* * Deadline for submitting all entries is midnight on Thursday, January 17. * *
Each coach will receive an email and password from the tournament director to complete their team?s information and seeding criteria. There will be no coaches seeding meeting for the tournament!
COACHES: you MUST put your information into TrackWrestling for a wrestler to be considered for a seed (head to head, commons and last year?s state results). Per the seeding criteria, we will seed the Top 8 wrestlers and place them into 4 pools of 5 wrestlers, while the other competitors will be drawn into the 4 pools. The top 2 placers in each of the 4 pools will advance into a Championship 8-man Double elimination bracket. The 3rd & 4th placers will advance into a Consolation 8-man Single elimination bracket.
The 5th place pool wrestlers in each of the pools will be eliminated from the tournament.
We will have a brief coaches/scratch meeting in Room E6 (Drafting room) on Friday after weigh-ins to confirm pools. This will NOT be a seeding meeting, as this is completed by the data in trackwrestling.com and confirmed by the tournament committee. The following seeding criteria will be used:
1) Head to Head competition,
2) 2017 State Medalists,
3) 2017 State Qualifiers,
4) 2017 Winnetonka Tournament Placers
5) Committee vote.
Wrestlers must also be at the same or adjacent weights to complete the seeds from previous years.
IMPORTANT: For any changes to your line up on Friday please email Ila Grass, ilagrass@sbcglobal.net before you leave your school (Please don?t wait to inform us of changes when you arrive at our school). The tournament director is the only person who will make late scratches or substitutions to the tournament. You may make lineup changes up until weigh-ins.
