3A Wrestling Region 4 February 14th and 15th Lamar Community Building 610 South 6th St. Lamar CO 81052 Teams Participating: Classical Academy, C.S Christian, Eagle Valley, Elizabeth, Florence, James Irwin, La Junta, Lamar, Manitou Springs, Pueblo Central, Salida, Sierra, St. Mary?s and Woodland Park. Team seating: Please have your wrestlers put their bags in the pullout bleachers in the west side stands so we can leave the east side stands for the spectators. Admission Prices: Per Session Admission Pre-school ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- no charge Students /(K-12) & Senior Citizens (60 +) -----------------------------------------------------------$6.00 General Admission (Adults)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------$8.00 All-Session Passes (Minimum of 3 Sessions) Students (K-12) & Senior Citizens (60+) ------------------------------------------------------------$15.00 General Admission (Adults)----------------------------------------------------------------------------$20.00 1 session on Friday, 2 sessions on Saturday Seeding: We will use track wrestling for all entries into the regional tournament and you will receive an email from track wrestling with instructions on how to enter your athletes. Entries must be submitted through track wrestling on Wednesday, Feb 12th by 7PM. Head to Head criteria must be entered between Wednesday Feb 12th starting at 7:01PM and Thursday, Feb 13th finishing by 7PM. Once a wrestler is entered into the tournament the wrestler can only be replaced because of an administrative withdrawal or an injury and you are not allowed to move a wrestler to a different weight class. SEEDING CRITERIA: ALL REGIONS 1. Returning Colorado state champion - state placer (the higher place has preference)-any previous years. A. If two place winners from different weights were in the same classification (5A) and finished in the same place (2nd), the wrestler at the higher weight class has precedence. B. If two place winners are from different classifications; the larger classification has precedence. 2. Returning Colorado state qualifier. In the case of multiple state qualifiers, the following will be used as order of preference A. Higher regional place B. If two place winners from different weights were in the same classification (5A) and finished in the same place (2nd), the wrestler at the higher weight class has precedence. C. If two place winners are from different classifications, the larger classification has precedence. 3. Place wrestler in order (1-16) by win percentage (with a 15-match minimum). Once order is established use head to head criteria to move a wrestler no more than one position or seed at a time. Once placed, head to head comparisons must start at the top (#1 position) and work your way down. Wrestlers must have a winning varsity record vs the opponent in the current season for head to head criteria to be used. Wrestlers with less than 15 matches will be assessed losses to get to the 15-match minimum. 4. Most wins 5. Varsity win percentage at the weight the wrestler is entered in at the regional meet 6. Most falls 7. Most technical falls 8. Most major decisions in overall varsity record 9. Vote of coaches 10. Coin flip Coaches must have ALL varsity weigh in sheets available at the regional seeding meeting. They must also have the signed CHSAA Wrestling Physician Clearance Form certifying the assessment for any wrestler below the allowed 7% (male) or 12% (female) body fat limit. Coaches? Attire: The wrestling committee adopted the following requirements for coaching attire during the Regional and State tournament. Coaches failing to meet these requirements in the post season will not be permitted to coach mat side. The wearing of jeans not in good repair, shorts, T-shirts, sweatshirts/sweatpants and non-institutional logoed warmup suits (top and or bottom), headwear, open toed shoes, sandals, and similar apparel are not suitable attire for coaches during regional and state tournament competition and therefore, are prohibited. Institutional logoed tops/jackets are permissible. Coach(es) in violation shall not sit in the designated reserved zone for coaching if the prohibited apparel is not replaced with suitable attire Hospitality Room: We will have a hospitality room available for coaches, administrators, bus drivers and workers on both Friday and Saturday. Mats: We will use 3 mats for the tournament.
