`CHAGRIN VALLEY CONFERENCE MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS DATE: Saturday, January 29, 2022 LOCATION: Beachwood High School - 25100 Fairmount Blvd Beachwood, OH 44122 TEAMS: Beachwood, Berkshire, Brooklyn, Cardinal, Chagrin Falls, Crestwood, Cuyahoga Hts, Edgewood, Geneva, Grand Valley, Hawken, Heritage, Independence, Kirtland, Lakeside, Lutheran West, Orange, Perry, West Geauga SCHEDULE: 7:30am Scales Open for Weight Checks 8:00am Skins checks & weigh ins begin We will weigh in by weight class (lightest to heaviest). All wrestlers must weigh in with a singlet on. There will be a 2lb growth allowance (ex: 80lbs is 82lbs). Wrestlers should have their hair and nails cut prior to weigh-ins. Coaches will not be permitted in the skin check/weigh in area. Any wrestler who is not present in the designated weigh-in area after his/her weight class is called will be denied the opportunity to weigh-in and will be scratched from the tournament. If your team is having problems with on time arrival to weigh-in, please contact the tournament director by call or text (216-374-6661); make sure to either talk to him or get a confirmation. 8:45am Coaches Meeting in Hospitality Room 9:00am Doors Open for Spectators 10:00am Wrestling Begins on 3 or 4 Mats (Depending on number of entries) - we will wrestle the tournament until completion. The tournament will be scored as a 16-man bracket. Wrestling will be conducted on 3 mats unless brackets require an additional mat. This is a double elimination tournament, except those who lose prior to the semis can only finish as high as fifth place. Awards ceremony will be conducted at the conclusion of the tournament. At the conclusion of the tournament, the top 6 place winners in each bracket will be recognized on the awards podium. The top two teams will be awarded trophies. This tournament will be run through TrackWrestling. ONLINE REGISTRATION The deadline for completing registration of your team will be Thursday, January 27 at 6pm. Registration for the CVC MS tournament will be done through Track Wrestling. To enter your lineup click on this link: CVC Wrestling Rosters 2021-2022. Keep in mind that wrestlers will not be permitted to change weight classes, or be replaced by another wrestler in the lineup, after 6pm on Thursday, January 27th. SEEDING There will be no seeding meeting. Please note the seeding criteria is based on the season record /winning percentage (minimum of 5 matches). We will only seed a maximum of 8 wrestlers per weight class. When submitting your rosters please include the wrestler?s weight, grade and record. (See Below) (EX) 80 lbs. Cael Sanderson (7) 159-0 We will try our best to get ?extra? wrestlers matches in the event that the bracket is not full (i.e. has less than 16). ?Extra? wrestlers do not score team points. ?Extra? wrestlers will be placed on the opposite half of the bracket as your scoring wrestler. MASK MANDATE: Masks must be worn in the facility at all times by fans, coaches, and athletes. There are no exceptions. Only athletes actively participating may remove their masks. LOCKER ROOMS/SHOWERS/PERSONAL BELONGINGS: Locker rooms and showers will be available. In Wrestlers should bring locks for personal belongings. Each team will be assigned a specific locker room in which they can store their personal belongings. It is recommended that wrestlers do not bring items that may be taken. SPECTATORS: Doors will open for spectators at 9am. Masks must be worn at all times. CONCESSIONS: Will be available throughout the day. PARKING: Buses must drop off wrestlers at Beachwood HS Gym entrance and then park at Beachwood Family Aquatic Center located at 25125 Fairmount Blvd, Beachwood, OH 44122 (across the street from Beachwood High School).
