'``ournament is one (1) entry per team in the following weight classes: 76, 83, 90, 98, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, and heavyweight. 9. The maximum weight for the heavy weight contestants will be 250 pounds. 10. The minimum weight for the heavyweight class is 196 pounds. 11. The minimum weight for a 90-pound weight class contestant is 75 pounds. 12. The minimum weight for an 83-pound weight class contestant is 68 pounds. 13. The minimum weight for a 76-pound weight class contestant is 61 pounds.
Tournament will be pre-seeded with a coaches meeting at West Montgomery Middle School on Thursday, Feb 10th @ 6:00 pm. Coaches need to bring scorebooks and individual records for entries. Only conference matches will be used for seeding purposes. Brackes will be finalized at that meeting and not redrawn day off tournament. Scratches or missed weight will simply be removed from the bracket and opponent receiving the win by forfeit.
Weigh ins will begin at 8:30 am with wrestling scheduled to begin at 9:45 am. We will have two scales for athletes to weigh in on. Athletes must make scratch weight with a 2 pound allowance. For example if the weight class is 76 then the wrestler can weigh 78.0
Tournament will be an 8 man bracket with seeds 1-5. the 4and 5 seeds will wrestle first in each bracket for quarters. It is a single elimination tournament until the semi-finals. Semi finals losers will wrestle for 3rd place.
Tournament schedule should go as follows depending on how full brackets are:
8:30- 9:30 am weigh ins- no weigh in after 9:30
9:45 -11:45 quarter finals and semifinals
12:15-2:00 pm finals/consolation finals on two mats. Finals will be mat on mat 1; consolation finals on mat 2. Mats will move forward with bouts after each weights matches are completed. for example 76 finals/consolations complete then move to 83 pound final/consolation. Awards will be given after 113 pound, 152, and hwt.
Top three place winners will receive medals and winning team championship trophy. No medals for 4th place.
Only coaches will be allowed on the mats and only two coaches in each corner. No exceptions. Fans will be in the stands.
Concessions will be sold during the tournament.
