WELCOME to the 13th Annual Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougar Wrestling Invitational. January 17, 2015 WHERE: Shawnee Mission Northwest High School gymnasium. 12701 W. 67th ST. Shawnee, Kansas. Parking is available on the west side of the school. JAMES ACADEMY, TECUMSEH SHAWNEE HEIGHTS, TOPEKA HIGHLAND PARK, TOPEKA WASBURN RURAL, TURNER Weigh-in: You can weigh-in on site at 7:00-8:00, or at home. Make sure to record exact weight. Admission: Adults $7.00 Students $5.00 Breakfast: SMNW Wrestling Booster Club will have breakfast and lunch items for sale at the tournament. Lunch: Your choice of a Hamburger, Hotdog, or Chicken Sandwich with a drink, bag of chips, and cookie for $6.00 from You can have kids bring money, or you can pay as a team. If you are eating as a team, just have the check made out to SMNW-WBC. Hospitality: Will be in the cafeteria for coaches, officials, bus drivers, and adult tournament workers. Coaches Breakfast will be provided in the hospitality room at 7:00am. Concessions: Will be available throughout the day for parents and wrestlers. Coach?s meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m., Sat. Jan. 18th in Cafeteria 4, across from the gym. PLEASE BE ON TIME so we can get started as close to 9:00 as possible. Wrestling will take place on five mats with six officials. Periods will be 2-1-1. Approximate Schedule First Round 9:00 a.m. Second Round 10:45 a.m. Lunch 12:30 p.m. Third Round 1:00 p.m. Fourth Round 2:45 p.m. Fifth Round 4:30 p.m. NOTE: Schedule is subject to change depending on the number of participants. Winners of each match will be awarded good points to determine winner of the pool. Good Points Per Match Fall 4 pts. Technical Fall 3.5 pts. Major decision 3 pts. Decision 2 pts. Loss w/o pin 1 pt. Medals: Will be given to the top three place winners. The presentation of medals will occur during the final round or when placers have been determined. Place Criteria 1. Record 2. Head to Head 3. Most good points 4. Most Falls 5. Most Takedowns, Etc? Locker rooms: Will will not be provided. Make sure your wrestlers leave all valuables at home. If they want to bring them, they are responsible for their own items. We are using Track Wrestling, so look for the email from Track to enter your kids. Please use the separation criteria to get them into the proper skill level. We will use the weigh-in sheet to get exact weight the day of the tournament. Number of wrestlers is limited to 16 per team. Wrestlers will be grouped in pools of six (6). Each wrestler should get 5 matches. We will do our best to group them according to skill level also.
