2016 Rec League State Wednesday, December 28, 2016 The Legacy Center 151 South 1100 West Farmington, Utah Rec league State is for participating rec leagues, wrestling clubs, or schools only. This tournament is for wrestlers with two years of wrestling experience or less (Can not have competed in a tournament before 9/1/2015). Coaches will be responsible to make sure that their wrestlers have 2 years of experience or less. Any wrestler that has been found to have any more than 2 years of wrestling experience will be immediately disqualified without a refund. Registration/Admission: Registration is $25 and wrestlers must be registered by December 26th at 6:00 PM. Admission will be free for all but you must have a USA Coaches Card to get on the floor or you will need to pay $10 for a floor pass. Schedule: 10:00am until conclusion PreK-K/ All Girls 11:15am until conclusion 1st-2nd Grade 1:00pm until conclusion 3rd-4th Grade 2:30pm until conclusion 5th-6th Grade 4:00pm until conclusion 7th-9th Grade Weigh Ins: Because the tournament is so close to Christmas and team practice times will vary during that week, we will allow weigh ins to take place any time during the week of Christmas (starting December 19). You can also hold weigh ins on Tuesday, the 27th in the morning/afternoon. All weights need to be entered by 5pm on the 27th of December. For all those needing we will hold an onsite weigh in on Tuesday the 27th from 11am-1pm at the Legacy Events Center. Many options to weigh in and if all else fails contact Travis Swallow and we will get it figured out. This is a beginner tournament and the important thing is that the kids have the opportunity to compete!!! Each club, school, or rec league coach is responsible to hold a satellite weigh in for his or her qualified wrestlers and enter weights into trackwrestling no later than 5pm on December 27th. Membership: Participants must be full time Utah residents and have an active USA Wrestling Membership (which can be purchased at usawmembership.com). Wrestlers can only wrestle in one weight and age division. Format: Double Elimination. There will be no true second, and we will place the top 6 wrestlers in each division. Seeding: Trackwrestling seeding will be used Division and Weights Classes: Boys Divisions: PreK-K 33, 37, 41, 45, 49, 49+ 1st-2nd 42, 46, 50, 55, 60, 67, 75, 75+ 3rd-4th 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 87, 95, 105, 105+ 5th-6th 60, 65, 70, 75, 81, 87, 93, 100, 110, 125, 145, 145+ 7th-9th 75, 82, 90, 100, 110, 120, 135, 150, 175, 200, 285 Girls Divisions: Girls will be paired based on weight within the division. If there are 6 or more girls at a weight then they will do a line bracket, otherwise they will compete in a round robin. Girls can only compete in Girls divisions. Girls Division I (1st-3rd Grades) Girls Division II (4th-6th Grades) Girls Division Jr High (7th-9th Grades) Girls High School (10th-12th Grades) *If there are less than 4 wrestlers in a weight class, then weight classes may be combined to get matches for the wrestlers. If you are registered for a weight class that gets combined with another weight class, you will be notified by email of the change. Awards: Trophies will be given to the top 6 finishers in each weight class. The Champion in each weight class will receive a custom Rec League State Champion singlet. Each participant that does not receive a trophy will receive a Rec League State participation medal. Coaches: Coaches with an active USA Coaches Membership will be granted floor access free of charge. Coaches without a USA Coaches Membership will need to buy a floor pass for $10. Additional Rules and Regulations: 1. A wrestler cannot wrestle outside his/her school class; unless he/she weighs more than the heaviest weight class in his/her school class. 2. USAWU, National Federation, and UHSAA rules will govern all matches except the following: a. PreK/K and 1st-2nd Grade bouts will consist of 3 periods of 1,1,1. b. 3rd / 4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade bouts will consist of 3 periods of 1.5,1.5,1.5. c. All consolation matches will consist of 3 periods of 1,1,1. d. Overtime to be a 1-minute sudden death followed by (1) 30-second ride out period. 3.
