2019 Houston Area Middle School Wrestling Championships January 18 & 19th 2019 St. Francis Episcopal School (South Campus) 2300 South Piney Point Road Houston, TX 77063 Friday 1/18/2019 4-5:30 Weigh-Ins in Locker Room (2 scales, 1 challenge, no weight cutting on premises) 6-9PM Wrestle on mats 1,2,3 Championship round 1 and consolation bracket round 1 *wrestling will continue as long as possible. Saturday 1/19/2019 9AM Wrestling resumes (no weigh-ins necessary) 1PM Approximate finish time and awards ceremony Weight Classes: Boys: 80, 89, 98, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 140, 150, 162, 175, 200, 285 Girl?s: 100, 120, 140, 160, 180 (+2 Pound Growth Allowance) Eligibility: All Houston area wrestlers in school wrestling programs for grades 6-8 are eligible. Each wrestler must be entered on the eligibility form. Eligibility forms must be signed by Coach and Principal/Athletic Director. Entry Fee: $18 per wrestler (team cap at $350) All Checks issued by school and Payable to SFES Entries: Eligibility Form and check must be present at weigh-ins or team will forfeit. This tournament is managed by Trackwrestling. Wrestlers must be entered into the online system by their coach to compete. Coaches received an email on 12/28/2018 with login information and instructions to add their wrestlers. Please check your SPAM filters and contact Steve Johnson if you did not receive the message. Online registration closes at 5PM on Thursday January 17th 2019. After closing, only scratches will be allowed. There will be a seeding meeting at St. Francis on 1/17/2019 at 6PM. Female wrestlers brackets are (Saturday only) Individual tournament, double elimination, multiple entries allowed per team at any weight class. No challenge for true second. Championships 1.5min -1.5min -1.5min, Consolation 1min-1min-1min Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place wrestlers in each weight class. Team trophy awarded based on cumulative points per team earned by designated point scorer.
