NCAA wrestling season is here! Check out every single event on this week's calendar with a list of all the ranked wrestlers we could see in action at each event. Please note that not every ranked wrestler will end up competing, but at least we know where their teams are scheduled to wrestle. Week 13 of NCAA wrestling saw significant team and individual upsets that will give our rankers plenty of work to do. With more than 30 upsets and double-digit top tens going down, it really was a wild one. Here are this weekend's biggest upset stories.

The Southern Scuffle is humming along in Chattanooga as the first day of 2022 brings with it another slate of excellent college wrestling.

It's New Yera's Eve! Which means it's also the eve of the Southern Scuffle! Which means it's about that time to check out the preseeds to this prestigious annual college tournament!

It's nearly 2022, and what better way to put 2021 in the rear view than by watching a rad wrestling tournament. Thankfully, the Southern Scuffle is here with another edition of this annual tradition.

The Iowa Hawkeye's holiday tournament saga final turn will land them in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the 2022 Southern Scuffle. With the cancelation of the Midlands Championships and then the cancelation of the Hawkeye Open, the Hawks needed somewhere to get their nonstarters matches and the Scuffle accepted them in.

The Southern Scuffle is always an exciting way to kickoff the start of the year and it will all start with the lightweights. With 20 ranked wrestlers in the bottom three weights alone, Southern Scuffle will be must watch TV for all college wrestling fans.

Every New Year's Day, the Southern Scuffle kicks off the beginning of the year with an electrifying lineup that produces some of the year's top collegiate matches. The 2022 Southern Scuffle will be no different. Just how tremendous is the 2021 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational going to be? We haven't had one since 2019, so its mere existence is pretty tremendous in and of itself if you ask us.

Ukraine won its first World team title in Belgrade and did so in spectacular fashion. Of its nine athletes, seven picked up medals, five reached the finals and three earned gold. The team was led by Olympic Team member Alina Akobiia, who unfortunately had to miss the Games after damaging ligaments in her elbow. She proved here that she’s a tier above everyone on the U23 level, pinning each of her opponents prior to the finals (where she controlled Russia’s Kristina Mikhneva). Other highlights included Solomiia Vynnyk defeating talented Olympian Anastasia Nichita of Moldova in a contentious 4-4 criteria bout and Anastasiia Lavrenchuk and Anastasiya Alpyeyeva commandingly taking titles at 65 kg and 72 kg respectively. This bodes well for Ukraine’s Senior-level future. None of the five women that represented Ukraine at the Olympics — where it picked up two bronze medals and a fifth-place finisher — were in attendance in Serbia, showing the serious depth and wide range of stars that are entering their Senior-level lineups. Ukraine will, without a doubt, be entering the upper echelon of international women’s wrestling over the next quad as its young stars compete for World Team spots with its talented veterans.

We have two wrestlers in contention for a medal. Anthony Cassioppi (125 kg) is in the gold medal match at 125 kg while Chris Cannon (61 kg) is fighting his way through the repechage.

Wrestling has finished in women’s freestyle at the U23 world championships in Belgrade, Serbia. The team race was tight throughout between Team USA, Russia, Ukraine, and India. Take a look below to see the final standings and how every representative for Team USA performed.

The Serbia-bound USA U23 women’s freestyle World Team is loaded with college stars on a roster that includes national champions, finalists and All-Americans from recent years.
