The 2024 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational is set to go down on December 6-7 and will be the best in-season tournament of the year. Pre-seeds are set to come out later today (December 3rd) and will give us a better idea of what brackets will look like and who will be entered. It's hard to overstate how much exciting college wrestling took place this past weekend. All seven conferences held their championships over the last few days and determined the majority of the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Championships that will take place in less than two weeks in Kansas City, Missouri.

Another tumultuous week of NCAA D1 wrestling produced many upsets, particularly in the top 10! All the usual caveats apply, that which looks like an upset this week may not look like one by the end of the season, or even by next week!

A lot happened in Norman since the 2023 NCAA tournament - former head coach Lou Rosselli resigned, former North Dakota State head coach Roger Kish was selected as his successor, assistants Nick Heflin, Sam Hazewinkel and Mike Lightner left, new assistants Austin Marsden and Cam Sykora were brought in, seven wrestlers hit the transfer portal, and eight wrestlers transferred in. While a lot has happened, I still expect 70% of this year’s starting lineup to either be either back from last year’s lineup or coming off of a redshirt year in Norman.

With the 2021 champ moving up to 165 and the 2022 champ moving on to coaching, 157 has become a weight very much up for grabs. There will be some key guys hopefully healed up, moving up, and coming in. Let’s dig in!
