It's hard to overstate how much exciting college wrestling took place this past weekend. All seven conferences held their championships over the last few days and determined the majority of the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Championships that will take place in less than two weeks in Kansas City, Missouri.

It's the last big week of the NCAA season, and it should be a great one! We'll start off with the most anticipated match of the year between NCAA champions David Carr and Keegan O'Toole during an incredible Iowa State vs Missouri dual, we'll see Cornell vs Ohio State on Saturday, and we'll wrap up with a legacy dual between Oklahoma State and Iowa on Sunday.

We've completed the antepenultimate week of duals (just two left!) and the upsets haven't slowed down.

The last three years of NCAA wrestling have been anything but typical. And the next few seasons are primed to stay on the peculiar end of the spectrum thanks to the extra year of eligibility granted every wrestler who participated in the 2021 season.

U20 Nationals (formerly known as UWW Junior Nationals) is one of my favorite age-level tournaments every year. The top high school upperclassmen get to test themselves against the best first or second year college guys who are often hungry to compete coming out of redshirt. It's the first step in making the Junior World Team as the winner of this event will earn an automatic berth to the best-of-three wrestle-off series against the World Team Trials challenge tournament champion in June.

Arizona State has gone from finishing 58th at the 2013 NCAA Championships to back-to-back team trophies. What Zeke Jones has done in Tempe since being hired in 2014 is remarkable, and they’re not stopping. The Sun Devils are poised to make it back-to-back-to-back NCAA trophies by bringing back 90% of their starting lineup from this past season.

The Div I regular season has come to a close. With the post season looming, I wanted to take a look at some of the bright young stars in the sport that didn’t get a chance to shine under the bright lights this season as they are competing unattached.

Cael Valencia currently owns an 8-0 record with a win over a top-10 opponent. Even though the Arizona State freshman has shown his tremendous upside, he’s still sitting on the shelf for the Sun Devils.

In typical years, now is around the time during the NCAA preseason where we'd take a look at the potential impact wrestlers who sat out last varsity season while on redshirt.
