The sophomore out of Simley, Minnesota is ranked top five in the nation at 220 pounds as of June, 2021 and comes in with a list of accomplishments heading into the cadet world championships. Nelson has competed on some of the bigger stages from the Midwest Iron Man duals, to the junior national duals in both freestyle and greco.

U20 Nationals (formerly known as UWW Junior Nationals) is one of my favorite age-level tournaments every year. The top high school upperclassmen get to test themselves against the best first or second-year college guys who are often hungry to compete coming out of redshirt. On the Senior level, the US Open will set the stage for Final X, but there's plenty to watch at the U17 and U20 divisions as well. The U17 division will conclude with a best-of-three series that will decide the World Team, shake up the high school rankings, and establish some wrestlers' cases to be in Who's Number One. The Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic, formerly the Dapper Dan, has a long-standing tradition of showcasing high school wrestling excellence. Every year, they pit the toughest Pennsylvania high school seniors against the highest-ranked national competitors they can find. This year's PA All-Star team includes 8 nationally ranked wrestlers, half of whom are ranked in the top ten in the country. Team USA?
