A native of Rockville, Maryland, Stewart won the Fargo junior freestyle nationals in the summer of 2021 at 182 pounds. Stewart has seen plenty of success throughout his career winning the Phil Portuese NE Regional in greco and the Watkins Mill open in 2018. Stewart also won the Crush Cancer Multi-State Tournament and the Raymond B. Oliver Tournament that same year.

Jack Wehmeyer put up two wins over TJ Stewart last season. The first was 7-1 at the Journeymen Fall Classic. The second was in the National Prep finals, but it was just a 4-2 match that came down to overtime. Now the two are officially #1 and #2 in the country, and both are trying to show the progress they made last season.
