2022-23 National Girls High School Team Rankings
Girls High School Team Rankings
The committee which selects the National Girls High School Rankings for individual athletes, which includes representation from USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, has released its final national high school team ranking for the 2022-23 season today.
This ranking includes public and private schools at the high school level from all states, including states with official girls state championship events as well as those with unofficial girls state championships. All of the state high school championships for girls have been completed for the season.
The top two teams have remained the same since the January ranking, with No. 1 Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) and No. 2 Toppenish High School (Wash.) holding down their rankings. Wyoming Seminary won the 2023 Prep School National Championships, and Toppenish was dominant in winning the Washington 1B/2B/1A/2A state team title.
There is a new No. 3 team, state team champion Liberty High School (Ariz.), which moved up from No. 4. Lebanon High School, the Missouri Class 2 state champion, is at No. 4, while Marina High School (Calif.), which repeated as state team champions, remains at No. 5.
Rounding out the top 10 are state champion teams No. 6 Harrison High School (Ohio), No. 7 Westlake High School (Utah), No. 8 Moanalua High School (Hawaii), No. 9 Chatfield High School (Colo.) and No. 10 Allen High School (Texas). Harrison, Moanalua and Chatfield won single-class state tournaments. Westlake was the Utah 6A state champions. Allen was Texas 6A state co-champions.
The selection committee chose to expand the number of ranked teams to 40 for the final ranking, up from the top-30 ranking released in January. In addition, the committee expanded the number of Honorable Mention teams to 27 for the final ranking.
