2024 Olympic Wrestling Rankings

97 kg - Akhmed Tazhudinov

Akhmed Tazhudinov ranked #1 at 97 kg and is the returning world champion after defeating Kyle Snyder, Abdulrashid Sadulaev, and Magomedkhan Magomedov at 2023 Worlds. Based on rankings points, Tazhudinov will be the #2 seed while Kyle Snyder will be the #3. That means if seeds hold, Snyder and Tazhudionv will meet in the semis at the Olympics.

Iran's Amirali Azarpira is the dark horse in this bracket. He'll be unseeded, randomly drawn into the bracket, and will be an incredibly challenging matchup for any one in this bracket. Azarpira won a U23 world title in 2021 and U20 and U23 world titles in 2022 and most recently defeated Kyle Snyder at the Zagreb Open in January.

As always, we’d love to hear your feedback - if you have thoughts or questions send them over by email to Jonathan.Kozak@flosports.tv or @KozakJon on Twitter.
