Nick Suriano Enters ASICS FloRankings

Nick Suriano's impressive win over #4 Connor Schram left me with a ranking quandary. Just two matches is not a lot to work off of, but the anticipation of excellence should not be rationale for an aggressive ascension. Suriano debut's at the 10 spot, just behind Ethan Lizak, who, like Suriano, also beat Connor Schram. Lizak has a host of other elite wins to boot, so it's fair for now.

So you'll say, why does Schram not move down more? Well at this point we don't know what a loss to Suriano actually means. 2 matches in, he could be the #3 guy in the country, or maybe something else. The point is, you don't know what the loss means yet, so it's hard to punish him. If Suriano keeps winning, he'll pass Schram quickly. If Suriano starts losing, it could send a signal for us to move Schram back some more. I'm predicting the former.

Tim Lambert and Ethan Lizak kept their weekly appointment to wrestle one another. Last week, Lizak won, this week it was Lambert. Dalton Macri falls after a loss to Alex Vargas. Josh Terao makes his ranking debut after knocking off Nathan Kraisser. Jack Mueller makes his debut as well after downing Austin Assad and Brent Fleetwood.
