NCAA Rankings 2018-19

Amar Dhesi graduated college but has a year of eligibility left and will wrestle in the world championships for Canada in October. If he returns to the Oregon State program (and we very much hope he does) he'll enter the rankings near or at the top. 

Absent Dhesi, Sam Stoll claims the number one ranking. Tanner Hall, who did not have a great NCAA tournament but had a tremendous season, gets moved up a few spots from where he finished last season. Similarly, Conan Jennings has more impressive wins than last season's rankings would indicate and gets a small bump up. Conversely, Shawn Streck won two matches at NCAAs, but his regular season was a smidge less than stellar, and his preseason ranking reflects that. 

Tate Orndorff was the only freshman to distinguish himself enough in his redshirt year to warrant a ranking. Meanwhile, True freshman Gable Steveson did win a college tournament as a high school senior, the Daktronics, but his best win at that tournament was not enough to vault him into the top 20. Freestyle results, as always, do not factor into the rankings, but we're confident Gable's time will come very soon.

Some other heavies of which to take note: Zack Parker of Ohio, Deuce Rachal of Illinois, Carter Islay of Northern Iowa, and Ian Butterbrodt of Brown.
