Hassan Yazdani won gold at the Asian Games and defeated India's Deepak Punia in the finals. Prior to the loss to Yazdani, Punia defeated Javrail Shapiev who notably placed 5th at this year's senior world championships. And despite the loss to Punia, Shapiev moves up the rankings after defeating 2022 senior world bronze medalist Azamat Dauletbekov.
