2020-21 New Jersey High School Rankings: P4P

Only weeks after the state announced the cancellation of this year’s New Jersey state wrestling tournament, sending the community into an uproar, wrestling fans across New Jersey can now breathe a temporary sigh of relief. We might just get a season after all.

Just last week, the NJSIAA announced that the winter sports season will now begin in March 2021 rather than the upcoming week, in hope that Covid-19 cases and restrictions and across the country will begin to dwindle by the spring and high school athletes can get some semblance of a season.

Still, there’s just something about that crisp November air and Thanksgiving fun that makes me think: wrestling season is here. This year, and for the first time ever, New Jersey wrestlers will get the chance to indulge in copious amounts of turkey and stuffing without having nightmares of the scale the next day at practice.

We may have to wait another three months for wrestling in New Jersey to begin, but I thought there is no week more appropriate than Thanksgiving to roll out the 2021 Preseason Team Rankings.
