2020-21 NCAA Division II Rankings
NCAA DII Team Rankings
This year has been tough for everyone. We did get hit at the beginning of the season with schools/conferences opting out. The following schools opted out for the season: Pitt-Johnstown, Kutztown, Millersville, Seton Hill, East Stroudburg, and Shippensburg. Out of Super Region 6 we lost San Fran St, Simon Fraser (BC) and New Mexico Highlands. I am under the impression that Super Regionals will still be happening, and that will be how wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Championships. It was just announced that the championships will be moved from Alabama to St. Louis for this season, as they cancelled the D2 “Festival,” where they host wrestling, swimming and track championships all in the same venue. It was announced that D2 would have fewer qualifiers at each weight class, but I am not 100% sure how they will be handling this. Super Region 1 lost almost half of their teams, it will be interesting to see how they handle changes like that this season. The last thing that is making this tough...we have wrestlers who were expected to be competing this season that have yet to hit the mats. This will be something else to follow. I took out wrestlers who have not wrestled a match yet this season. This link was released by the NCAA, explaining the cut in qualifiers for this season back in December.
