The NCAA wrestling grapevine has been burning up with transfer rumors and breaking news. Three big names entered the famous transfer portal, an NCAA clearinghouse for student-athletes on the move, all in the last full week of June. Four-time Pennsylvania high school state champ Gavin Teasdale has entered the transfer portal, indicating he will likely leave Iowa for another program this fall. Teasdale wrestled 12 matches in three tournaments for the Hawkeyes last season. Prior to that Gavin spent about half the 2018-19 season at Penn State. 

Iowa released their probable lineup for their first competition of the season against Chattanooga, and it raises more questions than it answers.

Gavin Teasdale recently appeared on the 53rd episode of the PA Power Podcast and announced that he was living and training in Iowa City and that he plans to enroll in the University of Iowa this fall. 

A local Penn State area newspaper reports that Gavin Teasdale may be back sooner than later.

Gavin Teasdale has been removed from the Penn State roster. Teasdale released a statement via Twitter stating that he will be returning to the team in January.

We all may still have an NCAA hangover, but don’t take your straps down just yet: The Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic returns to Fitzgerald Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh this Sunday. 

There are just six wrestlers in Powerade history who have won four straight titles, and Gavin Teasdale has the opportunity to become the seventh this weekend in Pittsburgh.
