Zaurbek Sidakov and Magomedkhabib Kadimagomedov did not get approval to compete at the Olympics so they have been removed from the rankings. With Sidakov's removal, Kyle Dake takes over the #1 spot.

Razambek Zhamalov is a Russian who now represents Uzbekistan. He won the recent Budapest Ranking Series Tournament and will represent Uzbekistan at the Olympics over long-time rep Bekzod Abdurakhmonov. Zhamalov has notable career wins over Khetik Tsabolov, Frank Chamizo, and Tajmuraz Salkazanov. However, he more recently lost to Salkazanov at the 2021 European Championships so Zhamalov comes in right behind Salkazanov in the rankings.
