Big Ten Rankings 2017-18
B1G 149: All Zain All Day
Zain Retherford continues to dominate the weight. He owns wins against eight of the other ranked guys here, with all but one of them being a bonus-point win. Brandon Sorensen was the only wrestler in the conference to keep the score to a regular decision with his 6-2 defeat to Retherford. That one loss is the only blemish on Sorensen’s record this season, and he owns wins against Ryan Deakin and Ke-Shawn Hayes. As for Deakin and Hayes, we had to dive deep to find separation between the two due to their common losses to Retherford and Sorensen. Deakin lost by major decision to Retherford, while Hayes lost by tech fall. Hayes lost by two to Sorensen, while Deakin lost by a penalty point in overtime. And the other conference common opponent we are using is Eleazar DeLuca, who beat Hayes and lost to Deakin 9-3. It will be hard for anyone one else in the conference to place in the top four ahead of the wrestlers named above.
