2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle
Pound For Pound - David Taylor
David Taylor takes over the top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings after winning his 3rd world title. Taylor now holds a 5-1 lead in the series over Hassan Yazdani and has only lost once in the last 5 years.
Sidakov comes in at #2 with his world title victory over Kyle Dake and is still unbeaten in all of his senior world and Olympic appearances. While Sidakov does have a spotless record on the biggest stage, he lost to Timur Bizhoev this past July, Ali Savadkouhi in November 2022 (at 79kg), and Khetik Tsabolov in October 2020. Those 3 losses are enough to keep him behind David Taylor in the pound-for-pound rankings.
Though Sadulaev took a loss to Akhmed Tazhudinov at Worlds, Sadulaev has developed an incredible resume over the past 10 years to hold him at the #3 spot. That loss to Tazhudinov was his first since 2017 and only the third in his 10-year senior-level career.
The 2023 World Championships produced all of the movement in the pound for pound - you can check out all of those results here.
