126 pounds
Iowa high school wrestling is on the upswing again. This summer, the tradition-rich state assembled a high-powered freestyle squad that brought the Junior National Duals title back to Iowa for the first time in 16 years. Additionally, Southeast Polk’s Nate Jesuroga captured a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships, posted a victory at Who’s #1 and won a Super 32 belt. Waverly-Shell Rock’s Aiden Riggins and Iowa City High’s Ben Kueter reached the Fargo Junior freestyle finals and nearly two dozen Iowa preps have committed to Division I programs.
Those three lead a parade of returning state champions and Fargo All-Americans who are scattered throughout this season’s first edition of the Iowa high school rankings.
