74 - Kyle Dake

With Russia and Belarus banned from this year's world championships, Kyle Dake is the clear favorite to repeat as the 74kg world champion. In last year's world finals, Dake earned a controlling victory over #2 Tajmuraz Salkazanov in the finals, 7-3. Salkazanov, who is coming off a win over #3 Chamizo in the European Championship finals, is currently set to be the #2 and should be considered a big favorite to make the finals opposite Dake. It's also important to note that Chamizo is currently set to be the 3 seed and would likely meet Salkazanov in the semis. 

Since the last set of rankings, Dake made the world team by defeating Jason Nolf in two consecutive matches. Also, Salkazanov won the Bolat Turlykhanov Cup with wins over Byambadorj Bat Erdene, Nurkozha Kaipanov, and Ikhtiyor Navruzov.
