Vito Arujau is back on top at 61 kg, but the big story coming out of Omaha at this weight was high schooler Marcus Blaze. The 17-year-old Ohian beat Nahshon Garrett, Daton Fix, and Seth Gross en route to his runner-up performance.

Jax Forrest, the other high schooler at this weight, took 3rd place at the World Team Trials, but that was due to multiple forfeits on the backside. He only beat Liam Cronin, Nico Provo, and Kyle Burwick and lost to Austin Desanto. Desanto is ahead of Seth Gross because he beat him at the 2023 US Open.
