2021 World Championship Rankings - Men's Freestyle

Team - Russia

Russia will likely be without 3 of their best wrestlers (Zavur Uguev, Gadhzimurad Rashidov, Zaurbek Sidakov) but is still the “favorite” to win the team title. Russia has 3 ranked to win gold at 61kg, 70kg and 97kg and is ranked in the top 3 at every weight but 125kg. While USA has 4 ranked to win gold, they are only slated to finish in medal position at 8 of 10 weights. 

Though Team USA is behind Russia in these rankings, Daton Fix, J’den Cox and Nick Gwiazdowski could make up the difference by medaling (in J’den’s case winning gold). It’s clear the team title will come down to a close race between Russia and the United States. Both countries are favored to medal at almost every weight leaving zero margin for error for either country at any weight.
