2019 International Rankings - Men's Freestyle
65 KG Gadzhimurad Rashidov (RUS)
NOTES FROM NUR-SULTAN
Results from this weight class have been all over the map, both domestically and overseas. Retherford finally won his Final X wrestle-off with Diakomihalis, but couldn't get past Pan-Am rival Valdes in Kazakhstan. The Cuban later fell to Ali of Bahrain, who forfeited to Yianni in the finals of the Yasar Dogu, a tournament where Yianni also beat Nur-Sultan's silver medalist Musukaev. The Hungarian by way of Dagestan blitzed through the tournament, beating two former champs in Otoguro and Khinchegashvili before getting stopped by Rashidov in the finals.
Another notable mover is Niyazbekov, who beat Bajrang in the semifinals. However, a recent loss in Poland to Ogannesyan (who would later lose to Yianni in the finals), kept him from moving much higher.
Besides Rashidov being at number one, nigh-infinite orders of the top 20 can be justified.
