70 - Evgeni Zherbaev

Evgeni Zherbaev came out of the gauntlet at 70kg to earn the right to represent Russia at Worlds. Zherbaev defeated 2019 World Champion, David Baev and 2021 European Champion Israil Kasumov in the wrestle-offs to earn the spot.

Magomedmurad Gadzhiev is moving up from 65kg where he failed to medal at The Olympics. Gadzhiev is a two-time world medalist and knocked off James Green at the 2019 world championships. Though Green has lost to Gadzhiev and Baev in the past, he does have wins over world Champion Zurabi Iakobishvili (GEO) and Turan Bayramov (AZE).
