2022-23 NCAA DI Rankings
Cole Matthews
It should be noted that only folkstyle results against collegiate wrestlers are factored into the rankings, so true freshmen with no relevant results will not appear in the rankings, and redshirt freshmen with few relevant results will not appear as high as some may be expecting.
We're penciling in Penn State's Beau Bartlett to drop down to 141 to make room for Shayne Van Ness at 149, but that lineup has yet to be announced, and indeed may not be finalized until late in the season. The top four finishers at 141 from the 2022 NCAAs all graduated, so Beau and the rest of the top 10 are all title contenders, which should cause some major disruptions to the rankings as the season progresses.
We're excepting Alvarez, Hines, Bell, and Vasquez to return to their respective lineups, all of whom did not wrestle in the postseason in 2022 for various reasons.
Finally, redshirt freshman Lachlan McNeil checks in at just an honorable mention, but he's got the potential to move up the rankings in a hurry.
