2022-23 Ohio Division II High School Rankings
144 pounds
The top three in the weight class maintained the strength heading into state week. However, below them, the field really took some twists and turns. #4 Huck had a great district tournament taking home the title, being the only ranked wrestler in the field. In Norwalk, section fourth-place finisher Bo Hertenstein won 11-9 OT over ranked wrestler Rush in the first round! He would go on to make the finals and punch his ticket to state. He also pinned ranked wrestler Torres in the semi-finals. Rush also knocked Torres out of the top four on the backside in the consi-semis.
Canfield's former ranked wrestler Stricko fell in the second round to Hurley, who went on to win the tournament after placing 3rd at sectionals a week prior. Stricko would fail to place top four after Buckeye Junior Nick Brunst beat him in the consi-semis.
