2020-21 Wisconsin High School Rankings
2020-21 Wisconsin High School Rankings: 195
While Wrightstown wrestled at the Cheesehead, Quincy Klister did not. That is unfortunate because a potential matchup with Ryan Krimpelbein would have provided a nice common opponent to use to compare with Zach Wallace and Drake Anderson. As it is, he is #1 thanks to him only suffering losses to undefeated state champ Tyler Hannah and out-of-state guys. His 2-1 win over heavyweight (!) state champ Gabe Wertel did a lot of the heavy lifting in this ranking.
Rudy Detweiler's resume was bolstered by two key wins at team state, the weekend after the individual titlists were crowned. Erik Decker and Isaac Banker were close, but ultimately, Decker's couple surprising losses were the deciding factor. From there, the order was head-to-head driven: Decker over Kale Hopke. Hopke over Gavin Tegels and Carter Grewe (twice), and Tegels over Grewe (twice). Sam Galoff, with little interaction with the rest, but with a good amount of wins over state qualifiers, slots in subjectively at #8.
