2022-23 Ohio Division I High School Rankings
138 pounds
Ayoub and Bennett proved their #1 and #2 rankings, storming through their districts to set themself up for the state tournament. Hoover once again had a ton of action like most weights from the strong district. Mentor's Shelley raised his stock by a few spots by making the district finals. He defeated Brecksville's ranked wrestler Pluhar in the quarterfinals, who finished in third place. Pluhar only dropped a few spots since he took out fellow ranked wrestler Curtis. VanDyke would take the deep weight class in Hoover after pinning Shelley in the finals.
There were also some end-of-the-season weight changes. Hahn went down to 132, and Ginter went up to 144, which helped a few wrestlers stay in the top 10. Wyatt Brock of Harrison had a great weekend beating former ranked Beermann, #9 Cottrell, and #8 Murphy to win a district title. All three names on Brock's hit list made it to the state tournament, so he earned his district title and new #6 ranking.
