The Hoover district had two top 10 wrestlers lose in the second round of the wrestling backs, losing their chance to see the state tournament. These results opened eyes to several new names in the top 10. #2 Batson won the strong district, with new #8 Vucetic taking second place. He beat former top-five Lintner in the quarterfinals. 

#1 Blaze won his district, taking out #3 Miller with a 3-0 decision win. #5 Marconi was also in the Perrysburg district with Blaze and Miller. He finished in third place after losing to Blaze in the semi-finals. Thomas of LaSalle kept his top-five ranking at #4 after beating #6 in their district finals.
