The Kettering Fairmont district shook up the top 10 in an exciting fashion. Former top five Simmerman would have to default in the quarterfinals, dropping him out of the winner's bracket. However, he would battle back to take third, beating #10 Walker in the third-place match. However, the top two in the Kettering Fairmont district gathered several quality wins to enter the top 10. Adkins is the new #5 and district champ, with the runner-up, Weimer entering at #9.
#2 Vanadia beat #7 Gregory and #8 Bottiggi to win his district title to keep his #2 ranking heading into state week. #1 Russo and #4 Dickerson battled for the Hilliard Darby district title, with Russo winning with a 4-0 decision proving his #1 ranking. The last keynote is St. Edward's team went with Behlen Waugh, the sophomore at 215 who won the Perrysburg district, looking strong heading into the state tournament.
